Paula Bäckdén

Paula Bäckdén is a lawyer in Vinge’s Shipping Team and Dispute Resolution Team. She is a doctor of maritime and transport law and has more than 20 years of practical and academic experience in maritime and transport law. She assists clients with contentious matters such as cargo and charter party disputes, collisions and other third party liability, as well as non-contentious matters, such as ship building contract, sale and purchase of vessels and charter parties. She is Sweden’s average adjuster appointed by the Government and as such she settles disputes related to marine insurance. She has experience as adjunct judge in the court of appeal and teaches regularly at various universities. She has also been appointed as maritime law expert in two governmental inquires and has acted as arbitrator in shipping related matters. Paula Bäckdén is the president of the Swedish Maritime Law Association and a member of the EXCO of the Comite Maritime International.
