Press Release

Vinge is M&A law firm of the year for the 6th consecutive year

December 05, 2019 About the firm Awards M&A

Mergermarket has awarded Vinge the title of 2019 M&A Legal Advisor of the Year amongst business law firms in Sweden.

Maria‑Pia Hope, Managing Partner at Vinge:

It is with great pride and gratitude to our clients that we have yet again been awarded the most prestigious international distinction for Swedish M&A. We can see that our leading expertise and breadth in M&A is sought after by our clients. Notwithstanding something of a downturn on the Swedish transactions market, we have had an incredibly strong year with an influx of both complex and strategically challenging, high-value engagements.

So far this year, Vinge has been legal advisor in 90 transactions involving a total of SEK 330 billion. Vinge was also legal advisor in four IPOs, including EQT’s listing.

In advising AMF in connection with the acquisition of 89.9% of Bergvik Skog Öst, our solid industry experience was critical in securing key factors in the deal. Similarly, our in-depth expertise relating to financial regulation issues played an important role in KKR’s investment in Söderberg & Partners and Allfund Bank’s acquisition of Nordic Fund Market from Nasdaq. This is only three of the transactions in which Vinge’s breadth and depth have been decisive.

, says Jonas Bergström, Head of M&A.

Amongst the transactions are EQT Infrastructure’s acquisition of IP-Only Group, the sale of Memira Holdings to Dutch Bergman Clinics, SBB’s public offering for Hemfosa and advising Oriflame in conjunction with the af Jochnick family’s public offer to acquire the company.

By offering expertise in all areas of business law, it is possible for us to take on diverse and highly complex engagements. The award is an acknowledgment that Vinge, as market leader, provides legal advice of the highest quality within our full-service concept.

, emphasises Jonas Bergström.

The prize was awarded on Wednesday evening at Mergermarkets European M&A Awards in London. The distinction is based both on the number of transactions carried out and the value of the deals. Consideration is also given to the strategic, complexity and innovation level. The jury consists of experts in the area of M&A and representatives from Mergermarket.
