Vinge has advised Ingrid Capacity in new co-operation with Locus Energy, one of SEB Nordic Energy's portfolio companies

March 07, 2025 M&A

Vinge has advised Ingrid Capacity in connection with a new project together with Locus Energy, a leading Nordic energy infrastructure company owned by SEB Asset Management's SEB Nordic Energy fund, to develop Finland's largest and one of the Nordic region's largest battery storage systems.

The parties entered into a strategic partnership last year to increase the capacity of the national electricity grid and have now made a new joint investment in Finland's largest battery energy storage system, located in Nivala, Finland. The Nivala project is the second project of the partnership and a part of Ingrid Capacity's long-term vision to enable a resilient, cost-effective and sustainable electricity grid. The facility, which is planned to be commissioned in 2026, has a capacity of 70MW/140MWh and will be managed by Ingrid Capacity's proprietary and fully automated trading and optimisation platform, an advanced AI-powered software designed to make real-time decisions.

Vinge's team consisted primarily of Carl Sander, Vilhelm Rondahl, and Ellenor Eckerborn (M&A).
