Vinge has advised Gamma Waves on Sportway’s EUR 20 million financing round

Vinge has acted as legal adviser to Gamma Waves in connection with Sportway’s EUR 20 million financing round. The round was led by Gamma Waves, together with continued participation from existing shareholders, and values Sportway at approximately EUR 92 million (around SEK 1 billion) post-money.

Founded in 2017, Sportway is a technology and media company that, through AI and automation, enables sports federations, leagues, clubs and media companies to produce, distribute and monetise live sports content at scale. The company currently operates in more than 20 countries, works with over 70 sports federations and leagues, and produces more than 250,000 live sporting events each year. The capital injection provides Sportway with additional resources to accelerate international expansion, product development and strategic acquisitions.

Gamma Waves is a permanent capital investment platform operating at the intersection of Sports IP and Sports Technology. Gamma’s team brings together successful owners, operators and athletes from global sport alongside accomplished growth and technology investors. 

Vinge’s team consisted primarily of Johan Larsson and Gustav Wahlberg (M&A Corporate), Ian Jonsson (Intellectual Property), Ida Petterson (Employment) and Mario Saad (Corporate Commercial).

Vinge has advised Accent Equity VI and the minority shareholders on their divestment of Malte Månson to Citira, a European tire management provider and portfolio company of Norvestor. Headquartered in Stockholm, Malte Månson is an independent service and repair provider for commercial vehicles and operates a network of 28 service workshop locations across Sweden, authorized by brands such as MAN, DAF, IVECO, Mercedes-Benz, Setra, VDL and EVO. Malte Månson has an annual revenue of SEK 800 million and employs over 300 full-time professionals.
