Young Lawyers Want to Work at Vinge

A poll conducted by Juristbarometern show that Vinge is a popular work place among young lawyers. One out of three of the lawyers that took part in the poll name Vinge as one of the law firms where they would like to be employed.     

The annual poll was included in the last edition of Legally Yours.

Vinge is the second most sought after law firm among law firms that are known to attract young lawyers. 

In total 705 lawyers, out of the 4 768 lawyers that were included in the poll, took part in the questioner. 437 lawyers were women and 268 were men, 80 % of the participants were below the age of 30.

The prohibition imposed by EU law on complying with secondary sanctions laid down by the United States against Iran may be relied on in civil proceedings

On Tuesday 21 December, the EU Court of Justice delivered its long-awaited judgment in the Bank Melli Iran case (Case C-124/20) on the interpretation of the EU Blocking Statute regarding compliance with third country sanctions. According to the Court, the prohibition imposed by EU law on complying with secondary sanctions laid down by the United States against Iran may be relied on in civil proceedings. Following the Court’s judgment, anyone seeking to terminate a contract with a person or business subject to US sanctions must thoroughly consider if the termination is motivated by other reasons than the existing sanctions and reflect on whether to apply to the Commission for a derogation from the Blocking Statute.
