Vinge contributes with the Swedish chapter to Chambers Construction Law 2025

Vinge construction partner Daniel Prawitz and Vinge associates Julia Ahlqvist, Clara Klingspor and Isabelle Ivarsson have drafted the Swedish chapter in Chambers Construction Law 2025: A Chambers Global Practice Guide.

The guide includes the updated information on the Swedish regulations and the latest legal development within construction law, including construction disputes. It provides an overview of how the most central standard contracts, primarily AB 04 and ABT 06, deal with a wide range of issues and situations, such as e.g. determination of the scope of works, additional works and other variations, time extension and penalties for delay, liability for defects and damages, inspection procedures, as well as dispute resolution methods and forms.

The guide provides the reader with a comprehensive summary of the most relevant laws and other statutes, regulations and standard contracts applicable for any construction or infrastructure project in Sweden.

The guide also highlights recent events in the Swedish construction industry, including the long-awaited introduction of new standard contracts, as well as the Swedish Competition Authority’s interest in whether fundamental construction law principles, formalized in the standard contracts AB 04 and ABT 06, adhere to Swedish procurement laws, and ultimately to the EU procurement directives.
