James Hope receives three international awards

Sept. 27, 2019

Vinge’s Head of the Dispute Resolution Practice Group in Stockholm, James Hope, has been appointed as a new member of the London Court of International Arbitration as well as arbitrator in the international panel of the International Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR). He has also been ranked as a “Thought Leader” by the ranking guide WWL.

James Hope has recently been elected as a member of the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), one of the world’s leading arbitration institutes. The award entails being a part of the organization and its operations as well as participating in decisions in relation to the institute’s rules and operations. The LCIA’s main task is to appoint arbitrators for the disputes which are managed by the institute as well as to otherwise administer the disputes. The engagement commenced in June and James will hold the engagement for a period of five years.

James Hope has extensive experience in both Swedish and English court proceedings and arbitration, and the award is an acknowledgement of James’s role as a leading arbitration expert on the international stage. Previously, he was a board member of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce during the years 2013‑2018.

James has recently also been elected as arbitrator for the international panel of the International Center for Dispute Resolution (ICDR). The institute constitutes the international division of the United States arbitration institute, the American Arbitration Association (AAA).

In another nomination, James has been appointed as a “Thought Leader”, i.e. one of the world’s leading arbitration lawyers, by Who’s Who Legal, which annually evaluates and ranks the top experts and business law firms on the international stage. The guide is based on independent evaluations and research.
